What is built in Penn
Penn sits high on the Chilterns between Beaconsfield and High Wycombe, and its older buildings are built in the local materials: brick with flint panels, tile hung upper storeys and clay tiled roofs, with the church and the older cottages grouped around the top of the hill. Which finishes look right against Chiltern brick and flint?
The woodgrain foils generally do, because they have a texture rather than a sheen. Golden Oak, Irish Oak, Rosewood, Cream and Crystal White are the five that give a genuine woodgrain effect. Beyond those, any classic RAL shade can be sprayed and Farrow and Ball colours matched, which gives room to pick against the brick rather than from a short list.
Can you make windows for openings that are not square?
Yes, and it is normal in a house of that construction. Every window is made to the surveyed size of its own opening. Shaped frames are also available where the head of the opening is not straight, including Gothic, swept head and true arch shapes.
