Sliding sash windows in Liphook

A village on the old Portsmouth road at the Hampshire and Sussex edge, surrounded by heath and woodland.

What is built in Liphook

Liphook grew around the old coaching route and later the railway, with an older core near the square including buildings of some age, and Victorian and Edwardian housing from the railway period around it. Beyond that the village is largely twentieth century, and the surrounding parish spreads across heath and woodland with detached houses on large plots and older cottages and farm buildings scattered along the lanes.

What that means for your windows

Heathland properties tend to be isolated and set among trees, which brings two practical points: access matters and is worth establishing at survey, and screening raises the security question. Both are covered without difficulty, since PAS 24: 2022 is standard with Secured by Design available. On the older cottages and farm buildings the walls are thick and the openings individual, so each is measured on its own and shaped frames are available where the head is not straight.

Two ways to buy in Liphook

Liphook is inside the area our own fitting teams cover, so you can have the whole job done by one company. You can also buy the windows on their own if you have a builder already, which is how most trade customers order.

  • Supplied and fitted. We survey your openings before anything is ordered, so the sizes are our responsibility rather than yours. Our own teams fit, take the old windows away and make good the plaster line, and you get a FENSA certificate and an insurance-backed guarantee on completion.
  • Supplied only. You send a schedule of sizes, choose the colour, glass, hardware and glazing bar layout, and the windows are delivered kerbside for your own fitter. Popular with builders, developers, self-builders and landlords. On a supply-only order the sizes are yours, because nobody from our side has seen the openings.

Questions we get asked in Liphook

Can you fit windows to a property with a long private drive?

Yes. What the survey establishes is where a vehicle can stand and how the frames will be carried in and out, which on a long approach is worth knowing in advance rather than on the morning. For supply-only deliveries the drop is kerbside, so the move from the road to the property is arranged by you.

Are laminated glass options available?

Yes, laminated glass is one of four options alongside acoustic, solar control and obscure, and it sits on top of the toughened glass that is standard in both sashes. The laminated specification carries a U-value of 1.4 W/m²K, which is still inside the Approved Document L ceiling for replacement windows.
