Sash windows supplied to Brighton and Hove
Regency squares facing the sea and Victorian terraces behind them, in a climate that is hard on painted timber.
The sash stock in Brighton and Hove
Brighton and Hove is defined by its Regency seafront: the squares and crescents of Brunswick, Kemptown and Regency Square, rendered and painted, with tall sash windows and bow fronts facing the Channel. Behind the front the city is largely Victorian and Edwardian terraced housing, in Hanover, Preston Park and Poets Corner, with bays and the original opening pattern widely intact. Much of the seafront and the older centre is listed or in a conservation area.
What we supply, and how it works
Salt air is the practical argument here more than anywhere else on this list. Painted timber on a seafront elevation needs redoing constantly, and the foil finishes on these frames are a surface rather than a paint film, so maintenance is washing them down. The weather case matters too: water tightness at Class 7A, air permeability Class 4 and a colour matched weather bar joined to the bottom sash are what keep driven rain off the sill on an exposed front.
This is a supply arrangement. You send a schedule of sizes, the windows are made to measure to it, and they are delivered kerbside to your address in Brighton and Hove for your own contractor to put in. The sizes are yours, because the windows are built to the schedule you provide and nobody from our side has seen the openings.

Questions we get asked about Brighton and Hove
How do the finishes hold up in salt air?
The foil is a surface finish on the frame rather than a paint film, so there is no recoating cycle, and maintenance is washing the frames and glass down. That is the practical reason people move away from painted timber on a seafront elevation where repainting was needed every few years.
What glass options are there for a seafront property?
Toughened glass is standard in both sashes. Acoustic, laminated, solar control and obscure are all available and can be specified per window, so a seafront elevation and a rear elevation in the same order do not have to carry the same glass.
Other cities we deliver to
Delivery reaches the whole of Great Britain, so a city not listed here is still covered. See how supply-only orders work, or the areas where our own teams also handle the fitting.
