The sash stock in Bristol
Bristol holds two great bodies of sash stock. Clifton and the streets around it are Georgian and Regency, in ashlar and render, with tall formal frontages and, in places, bow fronts. Across the rest of the city, Bedminster, Totterdown, Easton, Redland and Bishopston are dense Victorian terraces, many with bays to the ground floor and the original opening pattern still legible, and a number now painted in the colours the city is known for.
What we supply, and how it works
The colour question is unusually live in Bristol, because painted terraces are part of the city's character rather than an aberration. That is where the finish range does real work: any classic RAL shade sprayed, Farrow and Ball matching, and dual colour so a strong external shade can sit against a white interior. For a contractor working several houses in a street, one schedule covering every opening keeps the specification identical across the run.
This is a supply arrangement. You send a schedule of sizes, the windows are made to measure to it, and they are delivered kerbside to your address in Bristol for your own contractor to put in. The sizes are yours, because the windows are built to the schedule you provide and nobody from our side has seen the openings.
What you control on the specification
- Colour.Eleven foils, five of them with a genuine woodgrain effect, plus any classic RAL shade sprayed or a Farrow & Ball colour matched. Dual colour available, so inside and outside need not agree.
- Glass. Toughened in both sashes as standard, with acoustic, laminated, solar control and obscure available and specified per window.
- Detailing. Deeper bottom rail, sash horns included or omitted, Georgian bars inside the sealed unit or external astragal bars, and shaped frames including Gothic, swept head and true arch.
- Hardware. Eight finishes including Antique Gold, with inset finger pulls and D handles as options.
1.3 W/m²K as standard, 1.2 with enhanced glazing.

Questions we get asked about Bristol
Can the outside be a strong colour and the inside stay white?
Yes, dual colour is available on any order. Any classic RAL shade can be sprayed and Farrow and Ball colours matched, so a painted terrace frontage can be reproduced accurately while the rooms behind it stay light.
Do you supply builders and developers?
Yes, and it is most of what the supply lane does. Send one schedule covering every plot or property and it is priced as a whole, with phased delivery to site where the programme is staged and a lead time confirmed in writing before you commit.
