What is built in Burnham
Burnham keeps a genuine village high street with older brick and rendered frontages and the church behind it, but the parish as a whole is dominated by twentieth century growth: interwar semi-detached housing along the main roads, and substantial postwar development filling the land between the village and Slough. Questions we get asked in Burnham
Our windows were already replaced once in the nineties. Does that complicate things?
It is very common and it is one of the things a surveyor looks for. An earlier replacement sometimes left a liner or a reduced opening behind, so the new window is measured against the actual structural opening rather than the frame that is there now. That is how you avoid inheriting a previous fitter's compromise.
How is ventilation handled without spoiling the look of the window?
