Sliding sash windows in Maidenhead
Railway-era villas near the river and a broad interwar belt around them. Both services run here.
What is built in Maidenhead
Maidenhead expanded hard once the Great Western reached it, and the result is a large stock of Victorian and Edwardian villas and terraces, particularly on the roads toward the river and Boulters Lock, with tall sash windows and bays as the standard pattern. The town centre has been substantially rebuilt in the later twentieth century, and around the older streets there is an extensive interwar and postwar belt running out toward Cox Green, Furze Platt and Pinkneys Green.
What that means for your windows
The villa stock is the interesting work: tall openings, bays to the ground floor, and elevations where the window pattern is most of the architecture. Those houses reward a specification that keeps the divisions and uses a deeper bottom rail to restore the weight of the original timber. The interwar belt is higher volume and more straightforward, and it is where local builders order supply only against their own schedules. Both lanes run here, so the choice is about who is doing the fitting rather than what you can buy.
Two ways to buy in Maidenhead
Maidenhead is inside the area our own fitting teams cover, so you can have the whole job done by one company. You can also buy the windows on their own if you have a builder already, which is how most trade customers order.
- Supplied and fitted. We survey your openings before anything is ordered, so the sizes are our responsibility rather than yours. Our own teams fit, take the old windows away and make good the plaster line, and you get a FENSA certificate and an insurance-backed guarantee on completion.
- Supplied only. You send a schedule of sizes, choose the colour, glass, hardware and glazing bar layout, and the windows are delivered kerbside for your own fitter. Popular with builders, developers, self-builders and landlords. On a supply-only order the sizes are yours, because nobody from our side has seen the openings.
1.3 W/m²K as standard, 1.2 with enhanced glazing.

Questions we get asked in Maidenhead
What is the difference between your two services?
On supply and installation we survey the openings ourselves before anything is ordered, fit the windows with our own teams, make good the plaster line, and issue a FENSA certificate and an insurance-backed guarantee at the end. On supply only the windows are made to a schedule of sizes you provide and delivered kerbside, and your own fitter installs them. Both give the same window and the same 10 year warranty.
Do you deliver to a building site rather than a house?
Yes, kerbside delivery to site is standard on a supply-only order. Someone needs to be there to receive, check and sign for the load, and any visible damage should be noted on the delivery paperwork and reported within 48 hours, before scaffolding or other trades are booked around it.
