Sash windows supplied to Bath
A Georgian city where the window pattern is the architecture. We supply made to measure against your sizes.
The sash stock in Bath
Bath is built almost entirely in Georgian ashlar, laid out in crescents, circuses and formal terraces, and the whole city is a World Heritage Site with extensive listing. The sash windows on those frontages are tall, tightly proportioned and arranged in a disciplined vertical grid, frequently graduating in height between floors. Around the Georgian core there are Victorian terraces on the hillsides in the same stone.
What we supply, and how it works
Bath is as constrained as anywhere in the country, so the consenting position governs everything and belongs with your own architect or contractor, who will know the local authority's stance far better than a supplier can. Where a replacement is permitted, the specification is what we control: slim sightlines, external astragal bars that cast a real shadow line, glazing bar layouts matched to the original pattern, a deeper bottom rail and a colour picked against the stone from any classic RAL shade or a Farrow and Ball match.
This is a supply arrangement. You send a schedule of sizes, the windows are made to measure to it, and they are delivered kerbside to your address in Bath for your own contractor to put in. The sizes are yours, because the windows are built to the schedule you provide and nobody from our side has seen the openings.
What you control on the specification
- Colour.Eleven foils, five of them with a genuine woodgrain effect, plus any classic RAL shade sprayed or a Farrow & Ball colour matched. Dual colour available, so inside and outside need not agree.

- Detailing. Deeper bottom rail, sash horns included or omitted, Georgian bars inside the sealed unit or external astragal bars, and shaped frames including Gothic, swept head and true arch.
- Hardware. Eight finishes including Antique Gold, with inset finger pulls and D handles as options.
1.3 W/m²K as standard, 1.2 with enhanced glazing.
Secured by Design specification available.
Equivalent to gusts of up to around 115mph.

Questions we get asked about Bath
What can be specified for a formal Georgian frontage?
External astragal bars rather than bars inside the sealed unit, because the shadow line is what makes a divided window read correctly. A deeper bottom rail for the visual weight, sash horns included or omitted to suit the period, slim sightlines, and any classic RAL or Farrow and Ball colour, with the inside and outside able to differ.
What do you need from me to quote?
A schedule of sizes for every opening, plus the colour, glass specification, hardware finish and glazing bar layout. From that the order is priced and a lead time confirmed in writing. The sizes remain yours, because the windows are built to the schedule you supply.
Other cities we deliver to
Delivery reaches the whole of Great Britain, so a city not listed here is still covered. See how supply-only orders work, or the areas where our own teams also handle the fitting.
