Sash windows supplied to Camden
Georgian and early Victorian terraces at high density, much of it protected and much of it converted into flats.
The sash stock in Camden
Camden runs from the Georgian terraces of Bloomsbury and the early Victorian stucco of Primrose Hill and Regent's Park through to the dense Victorian streets of Kentish Town and Gospel Oak. Conservation area coverage is extensive and a large share of the stock has been converted into flats, so freeholders, leaseholders and managing agents are often all involved in a window decision.
What we supply, and how it works
Converted terraces bring a coordination problem more than a technical one, because a single frontage may be owned by several parties and a window replaced on one floor is seen against the others. Holding one written specification across the building, covering bar layout, colour, sightlines and horns, is what keeps the elevation coherent. A schedule can carry every opening across the whole building in one order for exactly that reason.
This is a supply arrangement. You send a schedule of sizes, the windows are made to measure to it, and they are delivered kerbside to your address in Camden for your own contractor to put in. The sizes are yours, because the windows are built to the schedule you provide and nobody from our side has seen the openings.
What you control on the specification
- Colour.Eleven foils, five of them with a genuine woodgrain effect, plus any classic RAL shade sprayed or a Farrow & Ball colour matched. Dual colour available, so inside and outside need not agree.
- Glass. Toughened in both sashes as standard, with acoustic, laminated, solar control and obscure available and specified per window.
- Detailing. Deeper bottom rail, sash horns included or omitted, Georgian bars inside the sealed unit or external astragal bars, and shaped frames including Gothic, swept head and true arch.
- Hardware. Eight finishes including Antique Gold, with inset finger pulls and D handles as options.
1.3 W/m²K as standard, 1.2 with enhanced glazing.
Secured by Design specification available.
Equivalent to gusts of up to around 115mph.
Certificate issued against your job number.
Questions we get asked about Camden
Can a whole converted house be ordered as one specification?
Yes, and it is the sensible way to handle a building in multiple ownership. One schedule lists every opening across every flat, each made to its own size, with a single specification for colour, bar layout, sightlines and hardware so the frontage reads as one building rather than four.
Do you deliver into central London?
Yes, kerbside delivery covers Great Britain. On a dense street it is worth thinking about where the load can stand and who will receive it, because someone needs to be there to check and sign for it, and the move from kerb to property is arranged by you.
Other cities we deliver to
Delivery reaches the whole of Great Britain, so a city not listed here is still covered. See how supply-only orders work, or the areas where our own teams also handle the fitting.
